▲ prepare 和ready：詞義相近，但詞性不同，用法也不同。
1. 前者是動詞，及物或不及物均可；后者是形容詞，跟be連用：be ready。例如：
“你準備好了嗎？”
Have you prepared?
Are you ready?
2. 表示“對...做好了準備”，都要加介詞for，例如：
“你為考試做好準備了嗎？”
Have you prepared for the exam?
Are you ready for the exam?
3. 如果賓語是“準備”的直接內容，這時，用“prepare + 賓語”。不能用prepare for或 be ready for。例如：
“她正在準備午飯。”
She is preparing lunch now. （這句話的含義是：“她正在準備午飯。” = “她正在做午飯。”）
▲ 比較：
She is preparing for lunch now. （這句話的含義是：她正在為午餐作準備，例如：購物，買菜，洗菜等）
She is ready for lunch now.（這句話的含義是：她準備好吃午餐了。）

prepare for her lessons（指老師備課；為上課做準備）

prepare和ready都可以表示“準備”的意思，但是兩者的搭配和用法不同:
prepare 只能作動詞。常見搭配有：
1.prepare (for) sth.（for可以省略）: We must prepare (for) the party. 我們必須為聚會做準備。/ prepare (for) one's lessons 預習功課
2. prepare A for B 為B準備A：I prepared my speech for the meeting. 我為集會準備演講稿。
3. prepare sb. to do sth.為某人做某事做準備：Mother is preparing Father to enter the hospital. 母親正在為父親入院做準備。
4. prepare to do sth. 準備做某事：Have you prepared to go on a trip? 你已準備好去旅行了嗎？
5. prepare sb. for sth./to do sth. I prepared him for the bad news.我教他做好接受那壞消息的心理準備。/ I'll prepare her to face the difficulty.我要教她準備面對困難。/ prepare oneself for death (= prepare oneself to die)準備一死
ready 可以作形容詞或者動詞。
1. 作形容詞: Is dinner ready? 晚餐準備好了嗎？ Everything is ready for the party.有關聚會的一切事宜已準備妥當。 We are ready for work. 我們已準備好動手工作。I am ready to go. 我已準備出發了。 She got [made] ready for departure.= She got [made] ready to depart. 她做好出發的準備。She is getting dinner ready.她正在準備晚餐。
2. 作動詞: ready oneself for ... 做......的準備。
