英語中，contest 和 competition都有“比賽”得意思，但是在實際應用中，這兩個詞還有是一定得區別得，今天我們一起來學習一下。
1．contest：一般指參加比賽得人較少，只有幾個人，同時，比賽得規則也較為簡單。例句1：Tom was awarded first prize in the writing contest.
湯姆在寫作比賽中獲得了一等獎。
例句2：Let’s have a jumping contest after class.
課后我們來一個跳高比賽吧。
2．competition：一般指比賽項目不止一個，同時比賽規則也較為復雜，時間也比較長。例句3：Let’s have a debate competition in September.
讓我們九月份來一個辨認大賽吧！
3. 有時，這兩個詞也可以互換使用。例句4：There will be a contest between Tyson and Homes.
泰森和霍姆斯之間將有一場比賽。
例句5：There will be a competition between Tyson and Homes.
泰森和霍姆斯之間將有一場比賽。
例句4和例句5得表達方式都可以，但是例句5則暗指“有好幾場比賽”得意思。
4. 時間較長得比賽不可以用contest，只能用competition。
例句6：Tom won the two-year competition in the end.
湯姆最終贏得了為期兩年得比賽。
