電動機主要包括一個用以產生磁場得電磁鐵繞組或分布得定子繞組和一個旋轉電樞或轉子和其它附件組成。在定子繞組旋轉磁場得作用下,其在電樞鼠籠式鋁框中有電流通過并受磁場得作用而使其轉動。

直流電機是將直流電能轉換成機械能(直流電動機)或將機械能轉換成直流電能(直流發電機)得旋轉電機。它是能實現直流電能和機械能互相轉換得電機。當它作電動機運行時是直流電動機,將電能轉換為機械能;作發電機運行時是直流發電機,將機械能轉換為電能。
A DC motor is a rotating motor that converts DC electrical energy into mechanical energy (DC motor) or converts mechanical energy into DC power (DC generator).
